I was the live music programmer for the 1st ever Nottingham European Arts & Theatre Festival 2011 (NEAT11). I was given the opportunity to showcase four music acts that represented the diverse Nottingham music scene we have here. Venue was the Playroom at Nottingham Playhouse Theatre.
On May 31st Liam O'Kane performed alongside Jody Betts on the 1st night of my show. The style was a mixture of Acoustic folk, reggae and Indie.
On the 2nd of June Marvin Brown took to the stage with his fusion of Reggae,Soul and Dancehall. Supported by his wife Mrs.Brown and 'The Family' live band.
On the 7th June World Band MUHA took to the stage with their Ukrainian/Russian sound mixed with English and Hindi influences.
Final Cultural Vibrations performer was Mique who performed on Thursday 9th June with her guitarist Keiron. She sang a combination of covers and her own self-penned tracks. Mique sang Soul/R&B.
It was a pleasure and a privilege to be able to showcase a few of my rated Nottingham musicians at the NEAT11 Festival. Afterwards I was offered the main stage(700seats) for a full Cultural Vibrations Live&Local showcase on October16th. Exciting times!
